On June 17, eight years after the Mother Emanuel AME Church massacre, Michael shared his reflections [[link removed]] on the solemn anniversary.
[link removed] [[link removed]]
On June 19, Juneteenth, Michael spoke about his forefathers [[link removed]] , their fight for social justice, and his family's history of public service. He also published an op-ed in the Charleston City Paper [[link removed]] .

And on June 24, the first anniversary of the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, Michael reaffirmed [[link removed]] that a woman's health care decisions belong between her and her doctor.
At the Supreme Court

June was an action-packed month at the Supreme Court.
On June 8, the Court ruled [[link removed]] that Alabama’s Republican legislature likely violated the Voting Rights Act by racially gerrymandering the state’s congressional districts.
Then, on June 26, the Court rejected [[link removed]] GOP attempts to gerrymander Louisiana's map.

NBC News [[link removed]]
The pair of cases could have big implications here in South Carolina, where federal judges declared [[link removed]] that the new district lines in SC-01 are unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court agreed to take up the case [[link removed]] in its next term.

The Post and Courier [[link removed]]
In an editorial, the Post and Courier [[link removed]] wrote that Republican politicians in South Carolina should stop "defending a map that is morally bankrupt." We couldn't agree more.
In the arena
[link removed] [[link removed]]
POLITICO [[link removed]]
On everything from Trump to infrastructure, Nancy Mace has been making a ton of negative news lately, and our campaign has been aggressive in calling out her long record of flip-flops.
Last month, Mace began accusing President Biden of seeking a death sentence for Donald Trump [[link removed]] . We condemned her dishonest rhetoric [[link removed]] .
Mace has been defending the former president so much that POLITICO [[link removed]] even published a story branding her as a "new Trump acolyte."
[link removed] [[link removed]]
The Independent [[link removed]]
Meanwhile, Mace has been not-so-subtly auditioning [[link removed]] to become Trump's running mate in 2024 — saying she's "flattered" by the suggestion [[link removed]] .
Remember, after January 6, Mace said Trump "put all of our lives at risk" [[link removed]] and that the Republican Party needed "to start over." [[link removed]]

MSNBC [[link removed]]
On June 28, Mace was in North Charleston [[link removed]] to help hand out a federal infrastructure grant.
The only problem? She voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill [[link removed]] that made it possible.
The White House called her out [[link removed]] , and so did we [[link removed]] .
At least she got her photo-op. [[link removed]]
At the IAAM

With the opening of the International African American Museum, several news outlets were interested in speaking with Michael — who served as founding president on the project.
Live 5 News WCSC [[link removed]] , the 1250 WTMA Morning Show [[link removed]] , [[link removed]] and the Charleston City Paper [[link removed]] all interviewed Michael in the run-up to the grand opening on June 27.
Michael also shared some of his own memories of the IAAM [[link removed]] with his supporters.
On social media
[link removed] [[link removed]]
June was a stellar month on social media: Michael surpassed 6,000 followers on Twitter [[link removed]] , and our campaign launched a TikTok account [[link removed]] .
We also began posting campaign diary entries on the Daily Kos [[link removed]] , where you can follow our movement and help organize to defeat Nancy Mace.
From the trail
[link removed] [[link removed]]
Michael celebrated his birthday [[link removed]] on June 12, putting the "fun" in fundraising calls.
[link removed] [[link removed]]
On Father's Day, he reminded us why he's running. [[link removed]]
[link removed] [[link removed]]
And later in the month, he visited the IAAM for a couple of interviews.
