On June 17, eight years after the Mother Emanuel AME Church massacre, Michael shared his reflections on the solemn anniversary.

On June 19, Juneteenth, Michael spoke about his forefathers, their fight for social justice, and his family's history of public service. He also published an op-ed in the Charleston City Paper.

And on June 24, the first anniversary of the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, Michael reaffirmed that a woman's health care decisions belong between her and her doctor.

June was an action-packed month at the Supreme Court.

On June 8, the Court ruled that Alabama’s Republican legislature likely violated the Voting Rights Act by racially gerrymandering the state’s congressional districts.

Then, on June 26, the Court rejected GOP attempts to gerrymander Louisiana's map.

The pair of cases could have big implications here in South Carolina, where federal judges declared that the new district lines in SC-01 are unconstitutional.

The Supreme Court agreed to take up the case in its next term.

In an editorial, the Post and Courier wrote that Republican politicians in South Carolina should stop "defending a map that is morally bankrupt." We couldn't agree more.

On everything from Trump to infrastructure, Nancy Mace has been making a ton of negative news lately, and our campaign has been aggressive in calling out her long record of flip-flops.

Last month, Mace began accusing President Biden of seeking a death sentence for Donald Trump. We condemned her dishonest rhetoric.

Mace has been defending the former president so much that POLITICO even published a story branding her as a "new Trump acolyte."

Meanwhile, Mace has been not-so-subtly auditioning to become Trump's running mate in 2024 — saying she's "flattered" by the suggestion. 

Remember, after January 6, Mace said Trump "put all of our lives at risk" and that the Republican Party needed "to start over."

On June 28, Mace was in North Charleston to help hand out a federal infrastructure grant.

The only problem? She voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that made it possible.

The White House called her out, and so did we.

At least she got her photo-op.

With the opening of the International African American Museum, several news outlets were interested in speaking with Michael — who served as founding president on the project.

Live 5 News WCSC, the 1250 WTMA Morning Show, and the Charleston City Paper all interviewed Michael in the run-up to the grand opening on June 27.

Michael also shared some of his own memories of the IAAM with his supporters.

June was a stellar month on social media: Michael surpassed 6,000 followers on Twitter, and our campaign launched a TikTok account.

We also began posting campaign diary entries on the Daily Kos, where you can follow our movement and help organize to defeat Nancy Mace.

Michael celebrated his birthday on June 12, putting the "fun" in fundraising calls.

On Father's Day, he reminded us why he's running. 

And later in the month, he visited the IAAM for a couple of interviews.

There's so much work to do, and we're only just getting started.
