July 2023

Dear John

If there was a solution which could simultaneously protect our precious
countryside, reduce energy bills and tackle the climate emergency, would you
support it? We hope like us, your answer would be a resounding yes!

The potential of rooftop solar is vast, which is why we’re calling on the
government to commit to a target for at least 60% of the solar energy required by 2035 to be delivered through
rooftop solar
[[link removed]] . But how much do you really know about its potential? Scroll down to take our
quiz and find out!

July is National Picnic Month, so another great excuse to enjoy the great
outdoors! Nature writer Alexandra Pearce-Broomhead shares about the wildlife you
might encounter while out and about in your local countryside or green space
this month - read on to find out more.

there’s been a 24% increase in rural homelessness in the past year. As part of
the Rural Homelessness Counts Coalition, we’re proud to be doing our bit to help
end rough sleeping in rural areas.
