Friend,
Dangerous loopholes have allowed polluters to dump toxic waste called coal ash without oversight—overwhelmingly in Black, Brown, and low-income communities.
These communities currently endure contaminated drinking water and waterways laced with unsafe chemicals like lead and mercury, leaking from these unregulated and unlined dumps.
Fortunately, EPA is taking comments on a proposed rule to monitor and clean up these toxic coal ash facilities—but the proposal still leaves some coal ash dumps unregulated. We cannot let EPA take half-measures on a rule that could protect millions of lives.
TELL EPA: STRENGTHEN THE COAL ASH RULE >> [[link removed]]&t=1002&akid=13513%2E85243%2EeDBJwO
Ninety-one percent of coal plants pollute groundwater at unsafe levels for drinking. This situation will only get worse until EPA enforces the federal rule and ensures all toxic coal ash dumps are regulated. Tell EPA to do the right thing and require all coal plants to clean up their messes.
