John,
Today, we wanted to tell you about an effort led by SEEC Member Lloyd Doggett (TX) and more than 60 other pro-climate members of Congress to urge the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to take a stronger stance on plastic waste.
In a letter sent to the EPA, Rep. Doggett and other SEEC Members call on the agency to create actionable plans to reduce plastic pollution by eliminating the agency’s use of single-use plastic products, creating new standards to minimize microplastics in waterways, and establishing a community right-to-know for the production of any new chemicals involved in the creation of plastics.

We’re breathing, drinking, and consuming invisible specks of plastic. Plastic pollution endangers our animals, leaches dangerous cancer-causing chemicals into our waters, and never, ever goes away. Every piece of plastic ever produced still exists. Will you support SEEC Members’ work to reduce and regulate plastic pollution in the United States? [[link removed]]

John, Rep. Doggett is leading the charge to end our plastic dependency. But to keep the pressure up, he’s going to need backup. Can we count on your support to help us achieve our goal of electing the most pro-Climate Congress this country has ever seen in 2024? [[link removed]]
