John, I am really
proud of this.

We recently hit our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline — and after
looking at our fundraising numbers, it is clear that this is a grassroots
powered campaign — our average contribution this last quarter was just
$34, and 98% of our donations were under two hundred dollars.

Our campaign doesn’t take a dime from corporate PACs, so we rely on the
grassroots support of everyday folks who give what they can to propel us
forward. The overwhelming majority of our donations coming from grassroots
supporters means that we have the strength of the people who have elected
me to office to represent them — not corporate special interests.

When I first announced I was running for Senate, I knew I couldn’t do this
alone. It was going to take building the largest grassroots movement in
California history to take on this challenge.
