Friend,

Today is the anniversary of the first-ever census in the United States, which was completed on August 2, 1790. While that's not an anniversary I've really appreciated before, it's a good reminder to celebrate the work we did to put a stop to Trump's attacks on the 2020 Census. We fought hard for those wins, but we can't let our guard down.

Trump and his allies made it clear that the citizenship question was entirely designed to silence communities of color, and now that it's been struck down they're looking for other ways to suppress votes. Now more than ever, we need to make sure that we have leaders willing to stand up to the racism coming from the White House.

I was one of the first to call for the Mueller investigation, and I was proud to demand that we hold Trump accountable through impeachment. This president's attacks, from disrupting the census to separating families, are shameful, and I believe it is my duty as your representative to stand up to him. If you want to show that you're disgusted by Trump's actions, donate $100, $50, or $25 today to make sure that I can keep up the fight in Washington.

We successfully removed the citizenship question from the 2020 census, but our work's not over. I plan to keep pushing back on this administration's cruelty. Are you with me?

Best,
Nydia
