It’s the perfect time to remind ourselves about water safety, hurricane preparedness, and protection from extreme heat. And this summer, we’re also celebrating love and inclusivity as we close out Pride Month.

Earlier this month, I also joined Sandy Dorsainvil and the Prosperity Social Community Development Group to launch the the A&A Swimming Institute. In honor of Alex and Andrew Paul, the institute is dedicated to teaching Miami-Dade’s children to swim, ensuring safer summers for all.
But the summer months also mean Heat Season, and Miami-Dade is no stranger to extreme heat.

Miami-Dade County's Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department has been recognized with the prestigious Governor's Sterling Award – the highest recognition a public or private organization in Florida can receive for performance excellence!
The South Florida ORBIE Awards honors chief information officers for excellence in technology leadership, and our very own Margaret Brisbane of ITD won this year’s large enterprise category.
