John -

One of the biggest threats from the fossil fuel industry is something you
might not expect.

Beyond their climate-wrecking extraction of oil, gas, and coal, and before
their obscene profits hit their bank accounts, is a critical step that
helps keep fossil fuel companies afloat: their "greenwashing" advertising
campaigns to make people think they care about the climate.

It is up to our climate movement to make our message so loud and so clear
that it will drown out whatever they could spend on their ads. And that's
exactly why we are building toward a worldwide mobilization for climate
solutions to take place in November. If we are successful, we will have
built the boldest mobilization for a just renewable energy future the
world has ever seen.

Our first deadline for planning these events is June 30. How much we
raised by that date will give us a pretty good idea of if we can meet our
ambitious plans for our November climate mobilizations... or if we have to
scale back.

If you want to send a message to the world that it's time to end the era
of fossil fuels and invest in renewable energy, your
first contribution today
will be a HUGE step toward making that possible.

Oil companies like Exxon spend millions of dollars a year on advertising
campaigns, which includes "greenwashing" content — ads that pretend Exxon
cares about the climate, which the public often believes.^1 Their whole
goal is to get the public to look at small, seemingly "green" initiatives
so they'll ignore the massive oil and gas drilling that makes up fossil
fuel companies' reasons for existence.

These ads are essential for the survival of the fossil fuel industry. And
now it's time for us to fight back. Our mobilizations will produce the
kind of public influence that fossil fuel companies couldn't dream of
buying.

Just imagine, John: People on
the streets of cities of every continent on the planet, all calling for
investments in renewable energy, on the front pages of newspapers and the
lead stories of TV broadcasts. Our movement featured in the briefings for
decision makers at the UN's climate talks, so that they can't ignore our
power.

All of this will only be possible if we can meet our fundraising goals
before June 30, and for that, we need your help:
