The 2024 election cycle is poised to be the first election where AI-generated content is prevalent – a serious problem that demands urgent solutions. That’s why I’m proud to have introduced The REAL Political Ads Act, which would require ads to disclose when they use AI-generated content.

This is just the latest in my work to protect our digital civil liberties. From my leadership on the Cybersecurity subcommittee to my work on The American Data Privacy and Protection Act, it’s so important that we have legislators that not only understand the tech industry but are willing to hold them accountable.

That’s why I’m emailing. I’m a top leader in this space, the First Vice Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, and the ONLY Black woman representing New York, I need your help to keep my essential voice for our community in Congress.

With a critical end-of-quarter fundraising deadline quickly approaching, can I count on you to chip in whatever you can to support my re-election campaign?

This is one of the most important issues of our time, and I’m one of just a few legislators who specifically watch the growth of AI, algorithms, and data privacy to ensure that the tech industry is doing its duty and responsibility to the American people.

I am particularly interested in how tech intersects with racial and gendered equity, and I will continue to fight for an internet that is equal, fair, and transparent.

But I can’t do that without your help. Chip in whatever you can today to support my re-election campaign so I can post strong numbers after my quarterly fundraising deadline.
