At Campaign for National Parks we believe that everyone should have truly equal access to nature, but budget cuts and mismanagement have meant that there are big barriers to stop people visiting National Parks.
That’s why last week we launched our National Parks are for Everyone appeal, match-funded by The Big Give. This means that any online donations, up to £10,000, will be doubled until midday on Thursday 27 April.
With your help we can reach our goal of £10,000 and help secure a future where everyone can access National Parks. There are only a few days left, so please don’t delay in making your donation.

BANNAU BRYCHEINIOG NATIONAL PARK
The original Welsh name for the Brecon Beacons National Park, Bannau Brycheiniog, has been formally adopted alongside an ambitious new 5-year Management Plan for the National Park Authority.
We welcome the name change which puts Welsh language and culture at the heart of their vision for the future.
The Park follows Eryri in the formal adoption of the original Welsh name, which translates as the ‘Peaks of Brychan’s Kingdom’.

EVIDENCE ON PROTECTED SITES
There is an urgent need to strengthen the legislation protecting the most important sites for nature. That’s the key message in our response to a recent call for evidence from the Office of Environmental Protection. We use examples from around the National Parks to demonstrate the need for other changes, including more resources to ensure these sites are cared for effectively and a complete ban on damaging land management practices such as burning on peatland.

PRIZE DRAW WINNER
Last month, our corporate partner Cicerone offered a wonderful free travel book prize draw to our Friends. The lucky winner of EIGHT travel books by Cicerone, worth well over £100, was our long-term Friend Steve D. from Norfolk. Congratulations to Steve!
