** 6 out of 10 people with a learning disability will die before their 65th birthday. We believe that people with a learning disability should never die before their time. This is why we started We Can’t Wait ([link removed]) .

** The 2019 Learning Disability Mortality Review ([link removed]) reported that men with a learning disability die 23 years earlier and women 27 years earlier than those without a learning disability. Furthermore, The Care Quality Commission ([link removed]) has said that since June 2020, the death rate for people with a learning disability has more than doubled nationally. We think enough is enough.

** Our member-led campaign group, Champions ([link removed]) , want to stop delays in health appointments that can be a matter of life and death. We believe that prioritising people with a learning disability on NHS waiting lists will address this issue. Two NHS Health Trusts have already committed to this ([link removed]) , and Oxfordshire County Council have committed to cutting social care waiting times for people with a learning disability, but this is just the start. We need your support to get all healthcare professionals, health trusts and integrated care systems on board.
