Republican Congressman Will Hurd, who represents Texas's 23rd district, just made a surprising announcement: He's not seeking reelection in 2020. And he's not alone: Hurd is now the sixth House GOP retirement announced in just the last two weeks.

This rush of retirements is making one thing clear: Republicans see the writing on the wall that Democrats are on the offense and working to expand our House majority in 2020. And nowhere is that more true than Texas, where one political commentator has dubbed the rush of unexpected retirements as "Texodus."
