The status quo: Underfunded schools, gridlock traffic, rising housing costs – isn’t good enough. We need a leader who has proven experience in the Legislature and in our communities to continue the fight for education reform, affordable housing, veterans, and small businesses.
I’m a Low country native, a community advocate, chef, and legislator running for South Carolina State Senate in District 42. I’ve fought for the constituents of Charleston and passed critical bills to protect folks from predatory lending, improve drinking water quality and increase veteran’s benefits.
In service, I honor those we lost that tragic night at Mother Emanuel AME Church, including my sister, Myra, I am determined to carry this same level of dedication into the Senate, as I have in the House, persisting in the fight for my constituents' wellbeing.
