John, it’s time
for equal pay for equal work.

Today is the 60-year anniversary of the passage of the Equal Pay Act.
However, even after six decades, the gender pay gap still persists.

Women still only earn 82% of what men earn — meaning the gender pay gap
has barely budged in the past 20 years.

It’s clear that the Equal Pay Act was an important first step — but it was
only a first step. Now we need to take the next step and pass the Paycheck
Fairness Act.

[ [link removed] ]Passing the Paycheck Fairness Act through this Congress won’t be easy,
but we can start by showing everyone just how much support there is for
equal pay for equal work — please add your name in support of the Paycheck
Fairness Act today.

Not only does the gender pay gap persist year after year and decade after
decade, but it’s even worse for Black and Latinx women, who only make
cents on the dollar compared to white men.
After 60 years, it’s clear that we need the Paycheck Fairness Act to close
the loopholes in the original Equal Pay Act and build an economy that
works for everyone.

work by passing the Paycheck Fairness Act.

Thank you,

Pramila
