Today is the 60-year anniversary of the passage of the Equal Pay Act. However, even after six decades, the gender pay gap still persists.
Women still only earn 82% of what men earn — meaning the gender pay gap has barely budged in the past 20 years.
It’s clear that the Equal Pay Act was an important first step — but it was only a first step. Now we need to take the next step and pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.
