This Pride Month we’re advocating for everyone

Dear John
For 100 years, groups in the United States have been advocating for constitutional equality, and that fight is not over yet. This past April the majority of Senators voted in favor of SJ Res 4, the resolution to recognize the Equal Rights Amendment (the ERA) as the 28th Amendment, but it did not gain the required 60 votes required to pass. So we are still fighting! Now, there is a similar resolution in the House, H.J. Res 25.
Join our campaign to encourage Congress to recognize the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment by contacting members of the House of Representatives to co-sponsor HJ Res 25.

Equality Now advocates for broad constitutional equality and explicit non-discrimination. This #PrideMonth2023 and beyond, we are advocating for everyone, including the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals ([link removed]) , when it comes to citizenship and other rights ([link removed]) . The Equal Rights Amendment, which states, “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex,” holds ample potential to protect all marginalized sexes and genders, including by giving Congress the power to enforce it through “appropriate legislation.”
Take Action Today ([link removed])
Every day, women, girls, and other marginalized groups around the world face violence and discrimination. Sexual exploitation, harmful practices, and systemic inequalities violate their human rights and prevent them from reaching their potential. By standing with us against legal inequality and for constitutional equality, we’re one step closer to achieving a truly equal world where discrimination on the basis of sex is a thing of the past.
In solidarity,
Antonia Kirkland,
Global Lead, Legal Equality & Access to Justice, Equality Now
