President Biden's debt ceiling deal with a
group of fascist Republicans willing to hold our economy at gunpoint would
fast-track Joe Manchin's dirty deal -- even though it's incredibly
unpopular with everybody except the energy companies who will profit.

The deal also cruelly attacks seniors and our vulnerable neighbors by
making it harder to get food and much more.

Senators Tim Kaine and Jeff Merkley introduced essential amendments to the
deal that would stop Manchin's Dirty Deal and remove other un-American
measures that will hurt our environment and make our neighbors suffer.

doesn’t include the Merkley and Kaine amendments!

Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey and Jeff Merkley are all
speaking out against ramming through a flawed deal without fixing it.

The precedent of allowing economic terrorists to inflict pain on ordinary
Americans by threatening default is very troubling, and we take it as
further confirmation of our disturbing slide into fascism.

That's why we need to stand against these attempts by corporations to use
economic hostage-taking to extract policies that harm our people and have
no popular support. We cannot reward this behavior.
