CF Foundation Provides Up to $3.9M to TB Alliance


The CF Foundation is providing up to $3.9 million to TB Alliance ([link removed])
to conduct lab testing of a compound that could eventually be used to treat infections caused by nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) in people with cystic fibrosis. NTM infections are difficult to treat, requiring antibiotics for a year or longer with no guarantee of success and with a risk of serious side effects.

Find Connection and Community at NextBreath

Connect with others who are living with established cystic fibrosis lung disease or navigating life after lung transplant at
NextBreath, a free, online event June 13-14 ([link removed])
for people living with CF and their family members. Through small group discussions about learning to live with a new pair of lungs and the challenges that can come with established CF lung disease as well as one-to-one conversations, you can find community and connection with your peers. Each day of the conference will focus on different lung health journeys and experiences, please review the agenda to attend the day(s) and session(s) that are most valuable to you.

Mental Health Matters

Mental Health Awareness Month is observed in May to
bring attention to the importance of mental health and break the stigma surrounding it ([link removed]). People with cystic fibrosis as well as people caring for someone with CF, such as parents, are more likely to experience clinical depression or anxiety. If you think you or your child may be depressed or experiencing persistent anxiety, don't wait to ask for help: talk to your CF care team as soon as possible.
