Friend of Trust for Public Land,

Nearly half of Americans report feeling alone or left out sometimes or
always and a lack of meaningful social interactions on a daily basis.
One in five reports rarely or never feeling close to other people.
Loneliness, consequently, undermines health.

Yesterday, we released the 12th annual ParkScore® index, which shows that cities with the highest rankings are healthier places to live. We measured the 100 most populous cities in five
categories: access, investment, amenities, acreage, and equity.

Using the information from our ParkScore report, we are studying
access on a block-by-block basis, pinpointing areas where new parks
are most needed, and working with municipal leaders nationwide to
improve parks. With your support, we can break down barriers to park
access and create opportunities for people to engage with
nature - and each other.

For the love of parks,
