Dear Friends:
Governor Inslee has announced he is not running again.
Several people immediately jumped into the race. Others are thinking about.
There is lots of discussion about who the next Governor will be.
And I am excited to reach out and let you know I would like to be LIEUTENANT Governor (again).
I wanted you to be among the first to know.

I love this job and the opportunity to serve the people of our state.
We’ve thrown ourselves into the effort to provide more housing of all kinds for all our neighbors. That work bore fruit in this last session, called by many “The Year of Housing.” More major bills were passed in this year’s session than any in state history, much of it built on our work.
More work remains, however, to make sure the job gets done. After all, without effective implementation, there is no policy!
We’ve also launched a civic health project because we believe nurturing our democracy is not a one time job. Respectful discourse, including listening to others especially those traditionally marginalized, requires constant effort. As President of the Senate, I see this on a daily basis.
Paula and I were recently blessed with our third grandchild, Cameron Grace, and she is precious beyond words. Our children and grandchildren just have that magical way of focusing our attention on the long term and what we will leave behind. That’s what I go to work every day thinking about — our intergenerational responsibility.
In that spirit, I humbly ask for your support.
