Be weather aware ? especially in spring!

storm rolling in

Spring weather in Wyoming can be unpredictable. You might run into hot sunshine, lightning and thunderstorms, and snow ? sometimes all in the same day! ? but that shouldn?t stop you from enjoying time recreating or working outdoors. There are a lot of great reasons to get outside in spring, just make sure you plan ahead and bring along everything you might need. Teal Cufaude, a current wildlife biologist and former warden for Game and Fish, shares some tips she uses when she goes out into the field to make sure she stays safe. *Make sure you?re prepared before embarking to have a fun and safe adventure! The birds are back in town
American avocet

During the spring, some types of birds will appear in Wyoming that we haven?t seen for a while. Some of these birds are just passing through on their way north, but others will stick around until the fall. Are you seeing different birds in your neighborhood or on the playground that weren?t there over the winter??

Each day, count the different kinds of birds you see, and write them down. Does the number of different kinds of birds increase? You can learn to identify the birds you see by using apps like *eBird [ [link removed] ]*, *Merlin Bird ID [ [link removed] ]*, and the *Audubon Bird Guide [ [link removed] ]*.
