Learn more about what my office has been up to this week Dear john, On Tuesday, I introduced H.R. 3332, the Extending WIC for New Moms Act. This will expand WIC eligibility in the postpartum period from 6 months to 24 months and in the breastfeeding period from 12 months to 24 months. This legislation is an important step in supporting our moms and setting children up for future success. To learn more, read this press release from my office. On Wednesday, I joined with a bipartisan group of colleagues to introduce the Youth Workforce Readiness Act. This legislation will support after-school education programs, mentorship opportunities, and skills training that will help students thrive in careers as young adults. On Thursday, I teamed up with my friend and colleague Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock at a press conference to uplift the stories of survivors of mass shootings and push our colleagues to act.
