On Tuesday, I introduced H.R. 3332, the Extending WIC for New Moms Act. This will expand WIC eligibility in the postpartum period from 6 months to 24 months and in the breastfeeding period from 12 months to 24 months. This legislation is an important step in supporting our moms and setting children up for future success. To learn more, read this press release from my office.

On Wednesday, I joined with a bipartisan group of colleagues to introduce the Youth Workforce Readiness Act. This legislation will support after-school education programs, mentorship opportunities, and skills training that will help students thrive in careers as young adults. On Thursday, I teamed up with my friend and colleague Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock at a press conference to uplift the stories of survivors of mass shootings and push our colleagues to act. To view our remarks, you can click here or on the image below.

This week, the Congressional Black Caucus had the opportunity to meet the crew of NASA's Artemis II mission! I was honored to meet these four astronauts who will venture into space and travel around the Moon. Check out more on the Artemis II mission from NASA by clicking here.

Back in Georgia, Gwinnett County celebrated Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a program on Tuesday evening. To commemorate this month's celebrations, I introduced a statement to the Congressional Record and my office presented it to the county on Tuesday. I wish all those continuing to celebrate a wonderful AANHPI Heritage Month!
