session has been described as "generational" and "transformational."
That's because Governor Eric Holcomb and Republicans in the statehouse
took bold action that will undoubtedly continue to strengthen the
Hoosier State.

SUPPORTING GOOD GOVERNMENT This year, Republicans prioritized
policies to support good government that secure our schools, support
our police, and keep our communities safe.

That includes increasing
pay for our state police, state conservation officers, and state excise
police, all of who were among the lowest paid law enforcement officers
in the

Now, the starting salary for
state troopers will rise to $70,000, an amount that shows our respect
and reverence for those that put it all on the line every single day.
The legislature also approved a $7 million investment into regional
firefighting training infrastructure and an additional $10 million to
purchase new equipment for our volunteer firefighter organizations.
And finally, the Republican-led statehouse also passed legislation to
increase funding for school safety and expand how those funds can be
used to protect our students and teachers.
