As a former educator, I am proud to endorse my fellow former public school teacher, Helen Gym, for Mayor of Philadelphia. Helen and I share a vision for building stronger cities by investing in their people , and there’s no doubt in my mind that she is the right person to lead Philadelphia.

Teaching isn’t the only thing Helen and I have in common. To win here in Chicago, my team and I had to build a strong grassroots movement to beat back far-right attacks, charter school billionaires, and a crowded field. Helen is fighting to do the same in Philly right now.
