John, this is Chicago’s Mayor-elect, Brandon Johnson.
As a former educator, I am proud to endorse my fellow former public school teacher, Helen Gym, for Mayor of Philadelphia. Helen and I share a vision for building stronger cities by investing in their people, and there’s no doubt in my mind that she is the right person to lead Philadelphia.
Teaching isn’t the only thing Helen and I have in common. To win here in Chicago, my team and I had to build a strong grassroots movement to beat back far-right attacks, charter school billionaires, and a crowded field. Helen is fighting to do the same in Philly right now.
In fact, Helen’s primary election is TOMORROW, and she’s being attacked by a far-right billionaire who wants to defund Philly schools.
Can you please chip in to help a former teacher, progressive changemaker, and tough Philly mom win tomorrow, May 16? This is when our small dollar contributions go farthest, so I’m humbly asking if you’ll join me in support of Helen:

Chicagoans made it clear that they were ready for change — and I know that Philadelphians are feeling the same. Folks are ready for leaders who can address big issues like public safety, education, and affordable housing.
Helen has a vision to address these issues with people-centered solutions that invest in communities and address the root causes of the problems. Under her leadership, Philadelphia will be a safer, more prosperous, and more inviting place for everyone, not just the rich and powerful.
As Helen says, “we get the city we fight for,” so please join her and me in fighting to ensure Philadelphia is a place where everyone can be safe and joyful. Chip in here to support Helen’s Get Out The Vote Fund.
Thank you, and let’s goooo Helen!
Brandon Johnson
