Thanks to advances in medical science, babies as young as just 21 or 22 weeks
gestation can increasingly survive outside the womb – but only with the care of
medical professionals.



But in many states, babies of that age or later who survive abortion are not
given legal protection.

Currently, just eight states in the U.S. report abortion information on
born-alive infants.



From those eight states, reports show that 35 infants in 2020 and 2021 were
born alive and another 8 babies were born alive just in Florida in 2022.



Nationally, there are no numbers available. But in a study that looked at 241
children aborted for having a suspected fetal anomaly between 20 and 24 weeks,
122 infantssurvived the procedure!
