My generation is demanding change and will vote to make our voices heard.     John, My name is Lucy, and I'm writing to you today as a high school student who survived a school shooting. Four years ago, two shooters opened fire at STEM School Highlands Ranch in Colorado, and my life was forever changed. Kendrick Castillo, a fellow student, lost his life when he heroically rushed towards one of the shooters. His selfless act saved lives, but as a consequence his own life was cut short. But in the face of this tragedy - and hundreds more shootings since then - congressional Republicans have done nothing to address the horror of gun violence in our communities. Instead, they mostly go back-and-forth between howls proclaiming their own false victimhood and savage attacks on anyone who disagrees with them. Boebert is not just any elected official. She revels in causing fear and promoting policies that prioritize gun rights over human life, and she mocks anyone who dares to challenge her extremism. She's a dangerous politician who is unfit to serve in Congress. We need leaders who understand that the only way to address gun violence is to face the reality about guns. We need leaders who are committed to enacting common-sense gun reform that will save lives. We need leaders who are willing to stand up to the gun lobby and fight for what's right.
