While many “nonpartisan” organizations are fighting battles inside the partisan echo-chamber, the Independent Voter Project ([link removed]) is breaking down the institutional barriers that silence independent-minded voters.
We’re knocking on the door of the Supreme Court in California ([link removed]) , we’re changing the election rules in San Diego, and we’re supporting reformers across the country who are sick and tired of partisan politics -- and we’re doing something about it.

If the State suppressed the turnout of Democratic or Republican voters with confusing rules, like they do with no party preference voters, the political parties would make this their #1 issue.

Fourteen years ago, we wrote and passed California's nonpartisan primary initiative. Six years ago, we wrote and passed San Diego’s “Measure K ([link removed]) .”
These revolutionary reforms shook up the establishment and made independent voters more influential.
Now, we’re joined by a huge coalition to advance our most revolutionary reform yet.
