Exactly a week ago today, a total of 46 Republicans in the Senate voted to block the Equal Rights Amendment — effectively killing the bill for this session.

The Equal Rights Amendment, if adopted, would guarantee that all rights protected by the Constitution are held equally by all citizens without regard to sex.
