Community Open House
Port of Detroit Decarbonization Project
May 11, 4-7:30 PM
Kemeny Recreation Center Park Shelter
2260 S. Fort St., Detroit, MI
The Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority is undergoing an ambitious project for the decarbonization of the port by working with 27 terminals along the Detroit and Rouge Rivers and the community that lives and works in the region. The Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision (SDEV) [ [link removed] ] is hosting a Community Open House on May 11 so community members can learn about decarbonization, air quality, and share your ideas.
The decarbonization project will be undertaken in partnership with Tunley Engineering [ [link removed] ] and will help create a plan to reach zero carbon emissions by the year 2040 by using next-generation equipment with low-carbon fuel sources (electricity/hydrogen/biofuels, etc.). The plan will also set goals for the reduction of dust, particles, odors, and other harmful emissions from port activity.
Complete this form [ [link removed] ] to join the mailing list and RSVP to the May 11 event.
