A year ago, an opinion leaked from the Supreme Court that weeks later would overturn Roe v. Wade , a 50-year precedent that protected millions of Americans' right to an abortion.

If we weren't fighting an uphill battle before Roe was overturned, we are definitely fighting one now. Extremist politicians across the country are introducing new restrictions and blocking any laws attempting to put reproductive freedom back into the hands of Americans.

But Lisa has never – and will never – stop fighting for safe and legal abortion access. Listen, Roe was the floor, not the ceiling. Even before Roe, people of color, low-income areas and other marginalized groups struggled to access abortion care.
And with ultra-conservatives like Kevin McCarthy in charge, the House may never even have a vote on new pro-choice legislation. In fact, one of the first bills that the Republicans in Congress passed was a series of abortion restrictions.
