Meet jackie sumell & Marisa Morán Jahn!
In addition to introducing the
2023 Culture & Narrative Fellows<[link removed]>, we want to introduce and thank two other individuals who helped shape the 2023 Fellowship experience. This year, we invited multidisciplinary artists and Creative Change alums
jackie sumell<[link removed]> and
Marisa Morán Jahn <[link removed]>to join our selection committee as our first-ever Creative Advisors (pictured left to right, respectively).
Essential to the Culture & Narrative Fellowship is a demonstrated commitment to art as social practice. Both Marisa and jackie continue to lead innovative and impactful projects that reflect thoughtful and strategic approaches to collaboration with critical communities. And we’re thrilled that both artists signed on to further engage with our fellows through community learning sessions!
During the Narrative Innovators Lab launch, our
artist talk with jackie<[link removed]> and tour of the
“Growing Abolition” exhibit<[link removed]> at MoMA PS1 introduced fellows to how her relationship with the late Herman Wallace led to the “
Solitary Gardens<[link removed]>” project. Later this summer, Marisa will lead a session on the role of design in building equitable futures and the new book she co-authored with Rafi Segal,
Design & Solidarity<[link removed]>.
Keep an eye out for highlights from Marisa’s session and other upcoming artist-led community learning sessions!

So step into the Just Flavors kitchen with host Morelys and some of Gen-Z’s favorite TikTok foodies and chefs. Episode 1 launched April 20, and new episodes drop every Thursday at 8 pm ET.
