Honey cow (above) and her adoptive son Lux were raised on a farm for dairy and meat. Honey likely endured her children being taken away and slaughtered. After surviving such immense loss, Lux helped her heal. When the farmer had a change of heart, we were provided with the rare opportunity to rescue the bonded family and give them the promise of sanctuary - a safe space for life.

Bear was abandoned with her umbilical cord still attached. Separated from her mother within her first moments of life, then left completely alone to suffer. Thankfully, Bear was
discovered by a good samaritan, whose actions led the wee lamb to us! Residing at our California sanctuary, Bear loves to greet everyone and often comes up to ask for a back scratch.

Hal
Hal was confiscated from a California slaughterhouse along with his mother Annie, and twin brother Goodall. Though the family lived together peacefully for many years at our New York sanctuary, Annie and Goodall have since passed away. Hal remains a mellow, independent goat who loves getting treats from caregivers.

Ashburn
Ashburn was welcomed to our California sanctuary after a factory egg farm shut down. She was forced to lay eggs and continually deprived of the chance to be a mom. With individualized care, Ashburn has blossomed into a bright and curious hen who lives on her terms.
