Building Capacity for Environmental Justice
Our EPA Region 2 Technical Assistance Center Makes Headlines

Last week we told you about the grant we received from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Now you can watch a video replay of the press conference ([link removed]) held at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park in West Harlem.

CBS News was there to cover the announcement, running this story ([link removed]) . But arguably the best, most in-depth article was published by Inside Climate News, which you can read here ([link removed]) . It provides a good overview of our EPA Region 2 ([link removed]) Technical Assistance Center and how it will help advance environmental justice in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

To recap the announcement, the EPA launched its Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center program, with WE ACT - one of the 17 Technical Assistance Centers nationwide - receiving at least $10 million over five years to help environmental justice communities across the region build capacity for navigating federal grant application systems to secure funding for environmental justice initiatives. Our partners for the center include Clean Energy Group ([link removed]) , Columbia University Climate School ([link removed]) , Environmental Protection Network ([link removed]) , Inter American University ([link removed]) , New Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance ([link removed]) , New York University School of Law Institute for Policy Integrity ([link removed]) , and South Ward Environmental Alliance ([link removed]) .
