Nurse Mentors Sought To Lead Way to Healthy Future
Needed for a more equitable, healthy future: nurse mentors. The AARP Center for Health Equity Through Nursingâ„  continues the ongoing work by the Campaign for Action to build a corps of volunteer nurses who can help get nursing students to graduation and beyond. &ldquo;Mentoring is going to get us to a more diverse and representative nursing workforce,&rdquo; says a leader in the effort.

Nursing Organizations To Shape Shared Vision at Webinar
Professional nursing organizations need to coordinate with each other to address the social determinants of health and improve health equity for all. That&rsquo;s the top recommendation in the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 report&mdash;and creating that shared agenda is the purpose of a May 10 webinar that includes representatives from the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations, Council of Public Health Nursing Organizations, and the National League for Nursing.

The Root Cause Coalition calls for nominations for its 2023 Health Justice Award, which honors organizations that have successfully implemented a program to reduce health&mdash;matching the coalition&rsquo;s mission of collaborating across sectors to improve and achieve health equity. Winners will receive $25,000 and be recognized during the coalition&rsquo;s December 3&ndash;5 national summit. Deadline: June 19.

Licensed primary care clinicians including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians are invited to apply for the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program, which will pay up to $50,000 of debt for those who serve in urban, rural, or tribal communities with limited access to care. Deadline for the Health Resources and Services Administration program: April 25.
