Spring Break with Identity

For students who do not have the means to participate in enriching Spring Break activities, Identity provided a variety of age-appropriate activities to expose them to new experiences. From an overnight retreat in the woods to classes on a college campus or their first amusement park ride - it was a Spring to remember. Do More 24 for Students

We are dedicating all donations during Do More 24 ([link removed]) on May 17th to school supplies to fill backpacks for Identity youth for the 2023-24 school year. Many immigrant youth have a fragile connection to school or are new to our school system. Help them get ready to learn on day one. This year the demand is even greater and we are trying to fill 700-800 backpacks, which cost up to $38 each. Donate through our DoMore24 page ([link removed]) beginning in May, or send supplies now directly from our wish list ([link removed]) . We also welcome volunteers to pack ([link removed]) and/or distribute ([link removed]) the backpacks in August.

Bienvenidos Cumbre Teen Conference

One hundred and seventy newcomer students from nine Montgomery County high schools participated in a conference co-planned and co-facilitated by their peers. The goal of this third Bienvenidos Cumbres (Welcoming Summit) hosted by the Department of Health and Human Services, MCPS, Montgomery College, Identity and other nonprofits was to provide newly-arrived teens with an opportunity to bond with others with similar immigration experiences and introduce them to people and organizations who are here to help them realize their dreams.
