Democrat,
This week a Trump-appointed federal judge in Texas made a disastrous decision to restrict nationwide access to Mifepristone, the pill used for over half of medication abortions in the United States.
Mifepristone is safe and effective and was approved by the FDA over 20 years ago. Its use has long been supported by leading medical organizations like the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The fact is that these continued attempts by conservative activist judges and politicians to limit access to safe abortion care will not stop abortions from happening – they will only put lives in danger.
Sign our petition here to stand against this horrific ruling and show your support for safe and legal abortion access. [[link removed]]

This week S&P Global Ratings upgraded its rating on New Jersey’s general obligation bonds to ‘A’ from ‘A-‘, the state’s third credit rating upgrade in less than a week. It follows an upgrade from Fitch Ratings announced late Monday and a boost from Moody’s on Thursday, and is New Jersey’s sixth credit rating upgrade in the past 13 months.
“Today’s upgrade from S&P is welcome news coming as it does on the heels of the announcements from Fitch and Moody’s and is just more evidence that New Jersey is on the right fiscal path,” said Governor Phil Murphy. [[link removed]] “We’ve worked hard since day one to change the narrative in Trenton from one of financial distress to one of fiscal responsibility and that work shows in these upgrades.”
This dramatic improvement in New Jersey’s financial health is happening because Governor Murphy and our Democratic legislators have committed themselves to responsible budgeting and to making our state more affordable, equitable and prosperous for everyone. Following the 11 credit downgrades under former Governor Chris Christie, New Jersey Democrats have worked hard to improve New Jersey’s financial outlook and continuous credit rating upgrades prove that New Jersey is headed in the right direction. Democrats will continue to stay focused on growing our economy, creating good-paying jobs, and making sure there are more opportunities for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

This week President Biden’s Administration announced its intention to expand access to health care coverage for participants in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, by allowing them to apply for Medicaid and other government funded health insurance programs.
“They’re American in every way except for on paper,” said President Biden. [[link removed]] “We need to give Dreamers the opportunities and support they deserve.”
Access to health care should be a right, not a privilege and DACA recipients should not be singled out when they are contributing to our country like everyone else. As of September 2022, there are around 600,000 active DACA recipients living in the U.S. [[link removed]] who were brought here as children to live and work. The program doesn't currently lead to permanent status but the Biden administration has repeatedly called on Congress to create a pathway to citizenship
