DEAR FRIENDS,
------------------------------------------------------------
Summer is coming! And with summer comes a convergence of so many animals that need our help.
The cockfighting season (typically from November to July/August) is a little more than halfway through. That means we still have 5 months to bust new pits, and keep the ones we already know about closed. What we do this season will have an effect on how many birds are hatched and prepared for fighting next season, so working hard now not only saves lives immediately, but also reduces the number of lives lost going forward, because cockfighters won't raise as many birds if they think they are just going to get shut down over and over.
The season for both American and Mexican-style Rodoes is upon us. This means we have to make the very difficult decision as to where we will send our small pool of investigators. Cockfights alone could take all our time, and same is true for either Mexican or American rodeos. Put them all together, plus other issues we want to deal with, and it is an impossible choice we have to make every week.
Please consider $10 or $15 monthly recurring donations ([link removed]) or a one time donation ([link removed]) ! These animals need us and WE NEED YOU! ([link removed])
The partial answer to this problem is to expand our team, but we hardly have enough to do what we have to do now. If you can help, please do. SHARK is one of the very few organizations that still works in the environment where the abuse occurs.
Folks, wars are not won in offices. Our nonviolent war for compassion must be fought and won on the killing fields, and the arenas of torture. Unfortunately, just getting to those places costs money for wear and tear on vehicles, rooms, food, etc. Our equipment is professional grade, so we can get the video documentation we need. Our professional and unrelenting pursuit of animal abusers have put a crimp in the cockfighting and rodeo mafias like nothing else ever has. The beagles of Envigo are free today because SHARK documented their abuse with our drones. There are so many issues that we've impacted, but when it comes to saving animals, we are never satisfied, and we always want to do more.
You can read more about SHARK's many, many successes here. ([link removed])
Please see below for other ways to help SHARK help save animals lives across the county and beyond.
