While President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act sought to move us away from our dependence on fossil fuels, this dangerous legislation from House Republicans would give hand-outs to Big Oil while leaving the American people behind:

Inflation Reduction Act
Championed by Democrats and signed into law last year.
Invests in working people by:
• Cutting prescription drug costs and lowering health care costs
• Cutting pollution by 40% below 2005 levels by 2030
• Creating millions of good-paying jobs, making more clean energy in America

The "Polluters Over People" Act:
Championed by House Republicans.
Invests in Big Oil and gas corporations by:
• Increasing our deficit by $2.4 BILLION in handouts
• Breaking down key environmental protections to line the pockets of Wall Street
• Undoing historic clean energy legislation, which has already created over 100,000 American jobs

"The Polluters Over People Act" is a giveaway to big oil and gas companies. That means more price gouging at the pump, an increase in environmental and health disasters for the American public, and multiple steps backward in the fight against the growing climate crisis. House Republicans even rejected an amendment to prevent drilling off the coast of Washington.
