John,

Have you heard the pro-abortion argument using the analogy of a famous violinist?

Abortion advocates use it to argue that a woman’s bodily autonomy trumps a preborn child’s right to life. The argument goes like this:

Imagine if you woke up one morning and found yourself attached to a machine that connects your body to a famous violinist.

The violinist is unconscious and has a fatal illness, and you alone have the right blood type to save her life.

The violinist’s circulatory system was plugged into yours, and she will only survive her illness if you stay attached to her for nine months. If you don’t stay connected to her, she will die.

This argument may sound plausible, but the analogy falls flat. I explain why in a new video in our “Pro-Life Replies” series, which debunks the most challenging pro-abortion arguments:

I hope this video was helpful to you, John. This famous violinist argument is yet another faulty, euphemistic method in the toolkit of pro-abortion activists.

We must be equipped to point out every logical flaw precisely, and we must not allow babies to be continually killed in the name of (false) freedom.
