Friend,

In just a few short days we’ll come to the close of Q1 of this year. It’s hard to believe we’re already here, but in just the last 3 short months, extremist officials have made it painfully clear they are willing to do whatever it takes to pass their private agendas.

So, 2023 is gearing up to be the year where we fight back. Don’t get us wrong — every year, every election cycle, our team is fighting the good fight: Where we need to bring litigation, we litigate. Where we can stop bad laws from being passed, we run aggressive campaigns to stop anti-democratic bills. And where the legislature refers suppressive measures to the ballot, we fight to win those ballot campaigns.

But this year especially, we are seeing more attacks on the ballot measure process than ever before — attacks that are the opposite of what voters want to see happen. So, to close out this quarter strong and prepare for the fights ahead, we’re setting a goal to raise $10,000 to stop these attacks in their tracks. Will you rush a donation before March 31 at midnight to help us fight back, friend?

Just last week, the Mississippi state legislature threw out legislation that would have restored the state’s ballot measure process. 2 years in a row now, the state house has refused to reinstate the use of voter-driven ballot measures — a punitive move after voters had passed a marijuana legalization measure in 2021 — even though 72% of Mississippi voters want to see their ballot measure process reinstated.

Now more than ever, we are seeing elected officials act in stark contrast to the needs of voters. So, we’re fighting back. In every state and in every way possible. Donating to help us reach our $10,000 goal and power our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign is one surefire way we can do this — will you rush a donation before Friday at midnight to protect the power of voters, team?
