Florida is leading the nation in education choice and parental rights thanks to Governor Ron DeSantis’ historic leadership. This week, Floridians’ rights were expanded even further because Governor DeSantis signed House Bill 1 – making school choice accessible to every student in the Sunshine State.

📚 #1 in state in spending on private choice – with Florida’s private choice enrollments representing one-third of the entire nation’s
📚 #1 in tax credit scholarship enrollments, ESA enrollments, and in voucher enrollments
The Governor’s commitment to education has been evident since day one. Since taking office, Governor DeSantis has always put Florida’s children first and protected parents’ rights; He kept schools open during COVID lockdowns, supported civics education, increased teacher pay, guaranteed the right of parents to curriculum transparency, and so much more.
Now, the Left is trying to cast school choice as an evil plot, but Governor DeSantis will not fall victim to their woke playbook. School choice opponents want us to believe that giving school choice to Florida families would hurt education, but really, it helps. Florida is proof positive that freedom within education and allowing parents a voice in the kind of education their kids receive creates a pathway to success.
House Bill 1, which expands school choice to every student in the state of Florida, will:
📚 Eliminate the current restrictions and allow any student who is a resident of Florida and is eligible to enroll in K-12 to participate in school choice scholarships
📚 Eliminate the current enrollment cap and the exemptions to the maximum number of students who can participate in the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Opportunities
📚 Increase the number of scholarships for students with unique abilities
📚 Eliminate the requirement that at least 1 of the 24 credits needed to graduate will be completed through online learning
📚 Require the Office of K-12 School Choice to develop an online portal that enables parents to choose the best educational options for their student
📚 Expand the length of a temporary teaching certificate from 3 years to 5 years
📚 ...and more!
