Over the course of my career, I was responsible for training thousands and thousands of our soldiers to use and maintain their weapons.

They carried them into warzones, and into combat.

In just about every way that matters, those weapons had the same basic functionality as the assault rifles used in mass shootings across our country. They are weapons of war. That’s the truth.

And at times like these it’s important to tell the truth loudly, without fear. To be heard and seen. So we’re going to try something today.
