AFSCME Family,
As Women’s History Month comes to a close, I am inspired by the remarkable AFSCME women who lead our union.
This month our union lifted up sisters’ history-making stories. Watch some of my favorite clips from their stories in this short video now »
Whether they are organizing to win their union for the first time like librarian Wendy Rigby or serve on the state bargaining team like mental health worker Patricia Wright, they use their voices to speak for co-workers, patients, clients, and neighbors.
The best way we can honor our sisters is by continuing to fight alongside them for public service funding, safer workplaces, stronger contracts, and a better quality of life for all workers. Women’s History Month might be ending, but AFSCME members shape history every single day.
Thank you for being a part of our AFSCME family. Hear our AFSCME sisters’ voices now »
In solidarity,
Elissa McBride
AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer
