New Funding: Building the Prototype Open Knowledge Network

A new funding opportunity from the National Science Foundation aims to encourage research using knowledge graph databases. One of the solicitation’s core components is to create open knowledge networks, accessible to both government and nongovernment users, that meet existing federal government use cases. As a partnering agency for this opportunity, NIJ calls for proposals addressing one of the following priority areas:

  • Developing better data to describe nonfatal firearms injuries by integrating existing datasets from various sources.
  • Mining criminal justice insights from existing data, drawing from over 3,300 datasets in the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data.

Full proposal deadline: June 20, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. submitter’s local time.

The National Science Foundation will host a webinar discussing this funding opportunity on April 11, 2023, at 3 p.m. ET. Register to learn more.
