This week, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act. This bill would unleash American energy and lower costs for families by increasing domestic energy production, reforming permitting processes, reversing anti-energy policies advanced by the Biden Administration, streamlining energy infrastructure and exports, and boosting the production and processing of critical minerals. From his first day in office, President Biden launched an unprecedented war on American energy, which compromised our national security and caused energy prices to skyrocket. H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, will put an end to that, and I am proud to support it.
I also have a full week of committee hearings. Today, I am attending a House Agriculture hearing featuring Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, where I will ask him about overregulation impacting farm country. This is a Farm Bill year, and the federal government should be listening to producers, not hamstringing them with burdensome red tape.
This week, I will also attend subcommittee hearings for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the House Small Business Committee. In all that I do, the concerns, struggles, and values of those in the Big First are always in the front of my mind.
