I am running to attack the roots of injustice in our country.

John,

The media's been in a frenzy over newly revealed tapes that reveal President Ronald Reagan in 1971 referring to Africans as "monkeys" "uncomfortable wearing shoes."

I wish this was some historical artifact instead of another root of the white supremacy that presently occupies the White House and far too many of our institutions. That's why I am running to attack the roots of injustice in our country. As we saw at the presidential debates last night, too many senior leaders in the Democratic Party just aren't up to that task. We need a change.

This week, I was in El Paso with Reverend Barber and Moral Mondays with my friends Amy Vilela and fellow Brand New Congress-endorsed candidate Cori Bush. We were protesting migrant detention—one more racist stain on our country.

John, I need your help to win the primary in IL-07. We're $593 short of our July goal with just hours left. Your donation today will ensure we keep growing the team and fighting for the progressive future for the U.S. that we know in our hearts is possible. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Thank you,

- Anthony
