April meeting - Toward a more flourishing 350Brooklyn
Thursday, April 13, 7:00 pm
Our April meeting will be a working meeting where we put our heads together to think through ways we can make 350Brooklyn even stronger. Old hands and brand new members--all minds are welcome! This will be an in-person meeting so we will meet on a Thursday, rather than our usual Tuesday. We'll get together at the Friends Meeting House, 110 Schemerhorn Street at 7 pm.
Join us for Power Hour: low pressure, high impact
We provide all the tools necessary to dive in, you just show up! Join us every Monday from 12-1pm where we call and write in support of effective climate policy. We are on the verge of passing transformative climate legislation in the state budget - so join us to lobby Brooklyn's state representatives to get the Climate, Jobs, and Justice Package over the finish line. Please sign up for Power Hour.

"Greener, Cleaner Construction: The All-Electric Building Act"
Buildings are the largest source of emissions in New York State. Through the All-Electric Building Act, NYS Assembly Member Emily Gallagher is leading the charge to slash those emissions, while creating green jobs, exposing astroturfing groups, and protecting New Yorkers' health along the way. Eva and Emily discuss how this bill can become reality, and why all-electric buildings are a safer, greener, and less expensive way to build. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
The People United stop multinational corporate giant National Grid!
The PvFF workgroup and 350BK congratulate the No North Brooklyn Pipeline Alliance, SANE Energy Project, Alliance for a Green Economy, and Earthjustice for their huge and inspiring victory on March 16! Following a three year fight, the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) determined that National Grid’s proposed liquefied fracked gas (LNG) vaporizers which would be built in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, are not needed. The final decision on whether National Grid can build the vaporizers now moves back to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) which invited the PSC to determine whether the project is needed. The DEC is expected to deny the company’s air permit application.
We're looking for editors!
The 350Brooklyn Media Team is looking for another editor for our newsletter! This very email comes out twice a month. We have two folks on the job already but would welcome another editor. The job: you solicit entries and edit the draft for the Steering Committee. Then you hand it off to our wonderful coder who sends it out to this list on Tuesdays. This work can be done from home and puts you at the center of 350BK action. Sound like something that's up your alley? Reach out to [email protected] for more info!
This summer, sport a 350Brooklyn T-shirt
100% cotton, American-made and downright beautiful--send the world your climate message with a T-shirt designed by our own Danica Navgorodoff. The back says, "A Better World Is Possible." We will have them for sale at the April meeting for $25 and at various tabling events throughout the summer. Want more info? Email Sara at [email protected].
